GREAT LAKES PRIMITIVES GATHERING is now planning another legendary event, August 17 (set up) to August 21, 2016, held at Cedar Lake Outdoor Center, Chelsea, MI. As you may be aware, this historic event is scheduled for the 3rd weekend in August, a stable dependable date you can count on.
Our goal is to continue to offer ALL participants the same, reasonable, affordable low cost. A value filled 4 day event of learning, sharing and rejoining a familiar community that welcomes individuals and families, young and seniors and all skill levels. Your economical registration fee does not affect the quality you receive and covers most of your expenses for the 4 day GLPG Event.
Here is what is included, "Big Bang for Your Bucks"
-Cedar Lake Outdoor Center, acres of woods, local flora, animal life, trails and lake; Natures design equals a setting for the Great Lakes Primitives Gathering
. -Open, wooded or secluded areas for tent camping, RV space on site, (no hookups), bunk houses available to anyone interested, no extra cost.
-Running potable water, flush toilets, free hot showers on site, handicap accessible.
-Lake for swimming, fishing, canoes and kayaks available for your use. There are also archery and atlatl ranges available on site.
-Home cooked meals, prepared on site by our own Heidi Dayringer and Amy Wykes. No catering fees, all meals included. Dinner on Wednesday evening, 3 meals daily-Thursday, Friday and Saturday; breakfast and 1:00pm Supper on Sunday. Desserts with evening meals. Options available for everyone, vegetarian and gluten free.
-Daily class schedules, workshops, demonstrations and impromptu offerings. Hands on classes and experiences with instruction for all levels. You will learn from experienced, knowledgeable and skillful instructors. A variety of classes will be offered, teaching traditional techniques and crafts with the opportunity to take home your completed projects.
Auction items and raffle tickets will be at your expense. You will also be responsible for your travel gas money, possibly some small fees for certain classes or special material and if you feel the urge, a snack or two. See event information page for detailed information.
